When I was making this level, I focused on creating a beautiful scene that had good flow and could be used in a open world exploration game.
My goal with this level was to create an atmospheric and beautiful environment that felt calm and serene at first, but later caused the player to feel a bit uneasy.
To create the more haunting area, I used the mountain to create a naturally dark area in a cave. This was great for changing the atmosphere and feeling of the level.
I was inspired by the beautiful scenery in games like Dear Esther and The Vanishing of Ethan Carter.
